Kevin brings a deep passion for the game and years of experience to GSBA as its lead instructor. A former collegiate star and professional pitcher, Kevin is dedicated to helping athletes of all ages and skill levels achieve their baseball or softball goals.
After his fruitful high school career, Kevin's baseball journey continued in 1996 at Sam Houston State University, where he excelled as a key member of the starting pitching rotation. Known for his competitive spirit and precision on the mound, Kevin earned recognition as one of the top pitchers in the Southland Conference.
Following his collegiate success, Kevin was scouted and signed by the San Diego Padres organization, where he continued to refine his craft as a professional pitcher. While his time in the Padres system was cut short due to a career ending shoulder injury, it provided him with firsthand experience in the demands of professional baseball, from advanced pitching techniques to the mental toughness required for success at the highest levels.
Kevin returned to university, post injury, to finish his BS in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at Sam Houston State. He decided to continue his education with a Masters in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from UT - Permian Basin.
Now, as the lead instructor at Grand Slam Baseball Academy, Kevin specializes in pitching and hitting development, offering expert guidance in mechanics, strategy, and mental preparation. His approach emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, and fostering a love for the game, empowering players to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
When not coaching, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their 4 cats, along with watching the Houston Astro dominate the AL West. His hobbies include breeding, raising and racing homing pigeons, traveling to Ruidoso, NM, and reading the latest MLB trade rumors and news.
